The degree confluence project
The degree confluence project
The goal of the project is to visit each of the latitude and longitude integer degree intersections in the world, and to take pictures at each location. The pictures, and stories about the visits, will then be posted at the website.
Overview
The project is an organized sampling of the world. There is a confluence within 49 miles (79 km) of you if you're on the surface of Earth. We've discounted confluences in the oceans and some near the poles, but there are still 10,451 to be found. You're invited to help by photographing any one of these places
There are four confluences on the state of Yucatan:
20°N 89°W
5.5 km (3.4 miles) WSW of Yaxcopil, Yucatán, Mexico
21°N 88°W
5.1 km (3.2 miles) SE of Idzinté, Yucatán, Mexico
21°N 89°W
1.7 km (1.1 miles) E of Cheul, Yucatán, Mexico
21°N 90°W
10.6 km (6.6 miles) NNW of Kinchil, Yucatán, Mexico
